It’s no secret that nearly everything in Rune Factory 5 is either too expensive or not available without an expansion from Studio Palmer. This is why it helps to craft your own weapons, tools, armors, accessories, and more. However, each item needs specific materials to be made. A common type isFeathers. Here’s where to find some!
How to get Feathers
Feathers are frequently dropped byEmperor Penguins. A lot of them can be found aroundLake Yuminaand in theMeline Crystal Caverns. Both are located west of Rigbarth. If you don’t have access to these places yet, move the story forward.

You can alsotameEmperor Penguins, and they’ll produce a Bird’s Feather every morning. It might take a few tries, but they’ll accept anything—even grass herbs. They’ll produce higher-level Feathers the higher their friendship level is, allowing you to craft equally better accessories. Emperor Penguins are happier on cold terrain, so be sure to put them in a barn on theIce Dragon.
