The Valkyrie games are all part of a longing running Square Enix franchise that started in the late 90s. While the history isn’t packed like Final Fantasy’s is, it’s still interesting to look at how it got started.
The first Valkyrie game wasValkyrie Profilewhich was released on PlayStation in1999. By2006, the game had a sequel calledValkyrie Profile 2: Silmeriaon the PlayStation 2. Afterward, the series moved to handheld gaming for its third releaseValkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plumeon the Nintendo DS, in 2009.

The latest game isValkyrie Anatomia: The Origin,a mobile title released only in Japan in2016. While the games have stayed mostly niche, they have been released in English and made a small fanbase.
Each of the games revolves around a different Valkyrie or plot points that are heavily inspired byNorse Mythology. These games are longer RPGs that all take dozens of hours to complete and have deep stories.
