The cook here will give you a side quest, which must be completed before unlocking the ability to get food. to make food, you will need to supply the cooking materials and they will cook food for you which will providevarious buffs for Aloy.

Where do you find Goldthorn Pepper?
Goldthorn Pepper is a common food resource and isharvested from the Jungle Goldthornsplant. This plant is oftenfound growing in dense jungles. You will first come across this plant in the opening hours of the game in the Far Zenith ancient ruins. Though it can be found all throughout the forbidden west in grass-dense areas.
