An Origin Trait is the innate trait of a weapon. This trait depends upon where you get the weapon from and the weapon’s manufacturer. These traits grant specific buffs to the weapon, making them really powerful in different situations. These individual traits give the weapons an identity of their own.

There are two different types of Origin Traits in Destiny 2. They are as follows:
And just like every other perk we’ve seen previously,only one trait can be activeat any given point in time. So if you’ve received a Suros weapon from a Nightfall, you will havetwo Origin Traitson it, i.e., Stunning Recovery andSuros Synergy.
At any given point in time,either Stunning Recovery or Suros Synergy will be active. And although the chance for these traits activating is moderately low, it gives the weapon an added edge when they’re active, making the weapon deadlier if they end up stacking.
