Players of the original Angry Birds will remember how iconic and addictive the mobile game was. Now, Rovio Entertainment is bringing the app back to the market for fans to dive into headfirst.

The Finnish video game developer,Rovio Entertainment, has brought back the fan-favorite mobile video game, Angry Birds, in all its glory. Titled Rovio Classics: Angry Birds, the game was officially announced and released on July 11, 2025. The trailer shows off the classic style and mechanics that are identical to the original app, yet provide a slightly more clear and streamlined presentation that is not out of place in the 2020s.

Commenting on the dedication to preserving the feel of the original game, executive producer Sami Ronkainen said, “We know our fans are a discerning bunch and will be able to pick out even small differences. Matching the gameplay, physics, and appearance of the game next to the original was crucial,” in apress releasesurrounding the announcement of the game. The video game developer seems eager to invite both fans old and new to their game.

Rovio Entertainment explained that they made the game using Unity, meaning that while this mirrors the classic game closely, it has been newly created. They also announced that players who download the app will receive Mighty Eagle for free. Mighty Eagle is was in the original app game as a premium purchase.
