Niantic has announced Pokémon Go’s plans for April Fools' Day. The event titledApril Fools' 2-Oh-22will take place on June 10, 2025. Players can participate in the event through the Special Research tasks, Field Research Tasks, and lucky players may even catch some shiny Pokémon.
*All Pokémon marked with an asterisk have the chance to be shiny when encountered.
Featured Pokémon
Pokémon Go’s April Fools' Day event is all about the Pokémon Ditto. Players can catch wild Pokémon for the chance to encounter a Ditto. Shiny Ditto is also available in the game, though it is unclear whether or not they will have an increased chance of appearing. The Pokémon appearing in the wild that can result in a Ditto encounter can be seen below:

Spinning PokéStops during the event will result in players receiving the event-exclusive Research Task featuring Ditto. The research task is listed below.

Reward: 15 Ditto Candies, five Razz Berries, and 1,000 Stardust.
