As seen in the Harry Potter movies, the Elder Wand can switch masters at will, changing from Voldemort to Harry Potter. As a result, there is a chance that it will appear in the game and that the player character may get to use it.
Although this is all speculation at the moment, the Elder Wand will likely appear in the game since it does not have a known master during this time period.
