If you went to Hyzante in chapter three of Triangle Strategy, then Ministry ResearcherCorentin Jennarhas joined your cause. His ice magic will prove useful time and again throughout this story. Though Corentin joins your ranks for story-related reasons rather than Conviction scores, he is like the other recruits who approach Serenoa in that he sees what’s wrong with Norzelia and wishes to fix it.

Here’s how to use Corentin, theCryomancerfrom Hyzante.

Battle Strategies for Corentin Jennar

Corentin’s specialty is his ice magic, which can be used todamage, freeze, and slow enemies, as well as construct icy barriers that can hold enemies beyond where you are. HisIcy Breathis perhaps his most useful tool early on, as it has the ability to strike up to five foes in crossing squares while freezing the ground.

You can also freeze a large area of the ground withFrosty Fetters, which will deal considerable damage to a single enemy while having the chance to silence them. Once you’ve leveled, promoted, and upgraded Corentin enough, a great strategy would be to freeze as much of the ground as you can before using his advanced abilityIcy Tomband severely damaging all foes within range standing on the ice.

Class Promotion and Upgrades

Corentin is a must for battles with enemies that have an ice weakness—ranged attackers such as Bowmen that attack with fire. You can use Frederica’s Fire Shield to protect him, and be sure to increase the power of Icy Breath after you upgrade Corentin to weapon rank two.

When you upgrade him to weapon rank three, he’ll gain theGlacial Moonability, which can powerfully attack enemies within a large range. These advanced abilities require a considerable amount of TP, so keep Miguel close by to support him with more turn points.
