Ser Maxwell Trier, known in Norzelia as the Dawnspear, is one of Glenbrook’s finest warriors. Few could match his talent, such as General Avlora of Aesfrost. He’s the one who taught Roland how to use a spear. Here’s how to recruit him.

After Ser Maxwell falls off the bridge early in the game, he’s saved by Rosellans and loses his memory. To unlock him, your morality and liberty convictions have to be really high. Liberty needs to be higher than morality.

The Rosellans will regale Ser Maxwell of your exploits until it eventually jogs all of his memory. After news of Glenbrook’s recapture reaches him, he fully regains his memory and rejoins the battle. He can show up as early asChapter 15during your first playthrough.

Aside from answering correctly during dialogue prompts, you may also choose thegreen(moral) orred(liberty) paths during segments where you can to consult the Scales of Conviction. However, if you faithfully follow theGolden Route, he should naturally unlock between Chapter 15 to 17.
