MP is important no matter what Job players have equipped in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. Dying will reduce a player’s maximum MP and it can feel like an uphill battle to raise it again. Using Soul Shield and Soul Break against enemies will restore MP while increasing the maximum MP of the player.

How to use Soul Shield and Soul Break

Dealing enough Break Damage to enemies will cause them to be vulnerable to aSoul Break. This will deal a lot of damage while also increasing the player’smaximum MPand gaining some MP as well.Combo Abilitieswill use a bar of MP and do lots ofBreak Damagegiving players the tools to spend MP while regaining it quickly. Dealing weapon attacks can also deplete the enemy’sBreak Gaugeand certain Jobs excel at doing so.

Guarding attacks withSoul Shieldwill regain MP as well and the amount regain is directly proportional to the amount of damage the attack would have done to the player.Holdingthe Soul Shield will deplete it, making it more efficient to use it right before an attack lands to preserve it as much as possible. Soul Shield also has the added benefit of absorbingPurple Attacksto give the player charges of that Ability.
