With all the news surrounding Pokémon Legends: Arceus and generation nine, it’s nice to see that Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are still getting some love. Players who are looking to get Shaymin and complete their Pokédex are in luck. You can now get Shaymin for free just by following the steps below.
To get Shaymin, you will need to use theMystery Giftfeature in your game to getOak’s Letter. Once you get the letter, head toRoute 224to meet the Professor himself. Soon after, an event will occur where Shaymin will emerge and you can battle it to add it to your team.

Shaymin is aGrass-typePokémon, so Flying, Bug, Fire, Poison, and Ice types will be effective at bringing its health down. It’s not yet known whether Shaymin is Shiny Locked or not, but given that the other legendaries aren’t, you should be able to reset for a chance at a Shiny Shaymin.
Be sure to make asavebefore you go to meet Professor Oak just in case things go a bit awry while you’re fighting Shaymin.
