The most iconic part of the Enkanomiya storyline is arguably everyone’s best friend, Enjou, who—in a mind-blowing plot twist—reveals his true identity as the Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames. Despite being a member of the Abyss, the Genshin Impact community has a soft spot for the Abyss Lector, who drops a lot of lore every time he appears.
So it was only natural for him to become Genshin Impact’s next character release—for April Fool’s Day, at least.HoYoverseposted a character demo for the Abyss Lector on Genshin Impact’s meme Twitter account to celebrate the holiday.

The video was made entirely of chibi figures reminiscent of Nendoroids. It showcases Enjou transforming into the Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames, who showcases his skills and “defeats” the Traveler by taking a book from him. The scene is inspired by the last part of The Subterranean Tales of Drake and Serpent, where the exact event transpired.
Part of the April Fool’s Day gag involves posting the video on Ella Musk’s Twitter account, @Paimon2theMoon. It was first created during the Elon Musk PR stunt, hence the cryptocurrency-inspired handle. Ella Musk is a Hilichurlian linguist who hails from Monstadt, with the same last name as the Tesla founder.
