In a twist of events, it turns out that the revered Hierophant is nothing more than an empty puppet powered by the Aelfric. As a show of power, it even kills the Vice Minister and attacks your army. But not to worry! This battle is arguably not one of the worst ones the game has to offer. You just need presence of mind.
How to beat the Hierophant
The Hierophant may look threatening, but it’s really not. It just summons automations whenever it gets a free turn. It also has a pretty deadly skill that will defeat every unit who hasthree TPs or more. However, so long as youkeep track of your TPsthroughout the battle, it shouldn’t be an issue.
The real annoyances are everything else on this map. If you want to kill the Hierophant, you first need to get rid of everyone else.EradorandHughetteare all you need for this battle.

Erador canprovokeenemies within two tiles. He has all the passive skills and defensive capabilities to tank nearly every hit. Just verify he doesn’t get zapped by one of the mages, or he’ll retire in one hit. Provoke the mages before they can move close to him. If you needBenedictandMedicato continuously grant himextra turnsto do so, do just that.
He won’t be able to keep that up forever, so be sure to throw him aFortifying Spicebefore sending him off. Heal him when his HP goes down to 25%. Finally, use your allies to dealfollow-up attackson the enemies that have surrounded him.
Hughette, meanwhile, can useShadowstitching Arrowon far away melee enemies to prevent them from moving for two turns (three if you upgrade it). This should grant your allies enough time to kill nearby enemies.
If you’d like, you’re able to also useLionelfor this battle. He can provoke far away enemies.
There areno reinforcementsin this fight other than the automations. The Hierophant can only summon them once per turn—and not even on every turn, at that. They deal big damage, however, so be sure to defeat them as fast as you can. Luckily, they’re very slow!
