Core Keeper is an incredibly complex game that doesn’t give you any handholding. It drops you in at the deep end and tells you to swim. Progression can initially seem daunting, which could hinder your track to the late game. But have no fear, as this guide outlines progression in Core Keeper and tells you how to get to Late Game.
Start of Core Keeper
Dropped down next to the mysterious core. Your first step should be to grab thewoodin the starting area, along with anyMushrooms. Build aCrafting Tableand secure aPick, and any other tools you want. Then, it’s time to grab someCopper.
Dig until you find the sparkly indicating ores. You’ll want approximately 30 to 40Copper Oreto craft yourself some basic armor, weapons, and tools. Once you’ve got this sorted, your character will probably be starving, so either eat someMushroomsor harvest some plants for food.
With materials for starting gear ready, it’s probably time to startfarming. Get enough food planted with seeds, and make somecooked food. Then, it’s time to gear up for boss fights.
Fighting the first bosses in Core Keeper
You should have by now located the first boss,Glurch the Abominous Mass. If not, search around the various slime biomes nearby until you find him. This giant slime is a pretty simple fight; you’ll only really need a Copper Sword and some patience. Defeating him is a simple case of avoiding the jump attacks.
DefeatingGlurchunlocks access to some items that will help you locate the next two bosses. These will be available from theGlurchstatue next to the Core. Next, you’ll want to pick on eitherGhorm the DevourerorThe Hive Mother. You’ll definitely want at leastIron Armorfor both these fights, so it’s best to spend some time mining out Tin, along with Iron Ore from the outer layers.

For Hive Mother, you’ll want to have good regen, and for Ghorm, you’ll need extra speed. TheSlime Swordfrom Gluch’s statue is a great tool for Ghorm as well. This is also about the time you should consider building houses for NPCS.
Heading to the late game
Now it’s time for the really difficult stuff. After killing the three main bosses, dig as far out as you’re able to and touch the wall to head to the outer biomes. You’ll want to start gatheringScarlet Oreand equipping yourself with the best items you can find.
The final bosses are a lot more about luck and exploration than the first three. You’ll have to spend a lot of time searching for them. It’s best look intoautomationnow. You will have unlocked everything you need once you’ve mined Scarlet Ore, so you can experiment with drills and other options.
And once you’ve defeated the final bosses, you’ve essentially completed the game! Now you can perfect your base and explore everything in Core Keeper. Congratulations if you’ve made it this far!
