Triangle Strategy’s Chapter VIII, Part II: Sleep with One Eye Open unfolds upon Telliore Streets, where the traitorous Lord Telliore himself leaves a powerful foe in Rufus to bring you down. A new battle, Betrayal Beneath the Tellioran Moon, will commence once you choose your units.To win,“decimate all enemy forces.“To lose, “Allow Roland to fall.”
Unit Selection and Battle Strategy
Much of the Telliore Streets terrain is sloped, and hand-to-hand combat will be more difficult to pull off easily than ranged attacks like arrows or magic. Bring characters like Anna, whoseSurmountability makes scaling buildings a breeze. BringHughette, whose abilities you will need as she targets Rufus from the rooftops. Narve and Corentin’s ice magic will also be important to have against this battle’s fire-wielding bowmen.
Along with saving, make sure to level your characters to therecommended 12using the Mental Mock Battles at the Encampment. Use the spoils, especially from Hossabara’s latest available battle, to upgrade the weapon ranks of your strongest fighters. Stock up with accessories and enough HP Recovery Pellets from Lionel, who you may also consider using in this battle if you’ve leveled him high enough. With him wearing a Golden Pinkie Ring, chances of rare spoils will be higher when defeating foes.

Also, take this chance before battle to strengthen useful new characters who have appeared to you, depending on Serenoa’s Convictions.Medina,Archibald, andPiccoletta, for instance, all bring serious strengths. Medina can use two healing items at once, each at greater strength than anyone else could. Archibald, though slow, has devastating arrow-attack abilities that damage multiple targets.
Piccoletta can make a decoy copy of herself that moves and attacks on its own. She can also use offensive items at greater range and would be an excellent addition to have on your well-stocked team. Also bring a heavy hitter with high defense, like Erador, as well as Geela, whose healing andHasteabilities will be invaluable.
Keep Roland Safe from Rufus!
Telliore Streets will be littered with level-12 Glenbrook Blades and Pikemen, which are dangerous becausethey can harm two of your allies at onceif they are standing in adjacent squares. Level-12 Glenbrook Bowmen attack with fire from the rooftops, and Rufus begins in the center of the stage with two healers.Medina’s ability to throw itemsto allied units will be very welcome here.

It’s always a great idea to have Hughette in a Vanguard Scarf, which will allow her to always take the first turn. Position her close enough to Rufus, and you may use her Shadowstitching ability to immediately immobilize him where he stands. Unlike General Avlora,Rufus has no immunity to status conditions, so try to use Hughette’s Blinding Arrow on him as well.
Rufus shouldn’t intimidate you with these kinds of weaknesses. At level 14, he’s even a level weaker than Avlora was in the last fight. Just be sure not to advance any one unit too far, since lone units surrounded by foes in this game are simply asking for defeat. Hughette and Anna can go for it alone, however—use Anna’s Take Cover ability, and take advantage of her two commands per turn to wreak havoc unseen. And, as mentioned, make use of Surmount.
Just verify to keep Roland away from Rufus, whose blows are very powerful. Buff up Roland’s defense, and keep him on the move. HisOpportune Attackability will be handy to have, as he will be able to attack incidental foes while giving Rufus as much a go-around as possible without inviting total failure.
